The International Conference on Global Buddhism ended on 17.07.2024.

The Institute of Science, Innovation and Culture, affiliated with Rajmangala University, Thailand, chaired this international conference. The Eurasian University Institute and the Buddhist Association of Sandong Province, China, co-hosted the event. The Chief Sanghanayake of Thailand played a significant role in opening the Center of Global Buddhism in Thailand and providing the official logo, thus becoming the main patron.

Pradana Sanghanayaka led the main delegation from China from Shandong province. The President of PWO International University of Myanmar, Mr. Yunayake Sangharaja, also participated with a delegation from his country. The Chancellor of Pra Sihamuniraja Buddhist University, Venerable Sangharaja headed Cambodia’s delegation. A delegation comprised of professors from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, also joined the conference.

Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors from Indonesian Buddhist Education Institutions formed the main delegation from Indonesia. Buddhist professors from Mahamakuta University in Thailand, contributing resources for the event, constituted the main delegation.

From Sri Lanka, the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, the Finance Manager, and the administration staff joined the delegation on behalf of the Eurasian University Institute. Chief Lecturer Dehipe Chandawimala represented the Lecturers, Heads of Departments, and other staff.

During the conference, the Eurasian University was designated as the Global Buddhist Center of Sri Lanka, and the Vice-Chancellor, Delthara Gnananda, was appointed to the Board of Trustees. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between universities from the participating countries. Furthermore, China, Thailand, and Sri Lanka initiated an international research project under the leadership of the Eurasian University Research Unit. As Eurasian University Our goal is to pave the way for new advancements in the educational journey of students in Sri Lanaka.
