The Master of Education (M.Ed) at Eurasian Campus is a rigorous, academically grounded postgraduate qualification designed to develop reflective educators, academic leaders, and education professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to Sri Lanka’s national education system and the global academic community. This programme is offered in academic collaboration with Nile University of Science and Technology, a UGC-recognised higher education institution, ensuring international academic credibility, structured quality assurance, and global recognition. The qualification is recognised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and is approved by relevant Zonal Education Offices, enabling graduates to apply the qualification confidently for professional, administrative, and academic advancement within the Sri Lankan education system.
The M.Ed programme is designed in alignment with the constitutional principles governing education in Sri Lanka, particularly those promoting equity, access to quality education, professional integrity, and national development through knowledge creation. Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the Master of Education (M.Ed) programme offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), Eurasian Campus, must satisfy one of the following entry criteria:
- A recognised Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited higher education institution, preferably for applicants currently working as teachers in the government or private education sector.
- Entry Pathway to the Research Stage (Direct Entry)
- Applicants who have successfully completed a relevant Postgraduate Diploma in Education may be eligible to apply for direct entry into the Research Stage of the Master of Education (M.Ed) programme, subject to academic evaluation and institutional approval.
- In addition, applicants who have completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Honours Degree at SLQF Level 6 from a recognised University may be considered for direct entry into the Research Stage of the M.Ed programme, provided they meet the required academic and research competency standards
- All applications for direct entry are subject to academic assessment, verification of prior qualifications, and approval by the Academic Board, in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Students who wish to join directly at the Research Stage of the Master of Education (M.Ed) programme may select either the instalment plan or the full payment option, as outlined below.

Note
All registered students will receive International Student Registration, including an official Student ID Card and Student Registration Letter, issued through Nile University of Science and Technology, which is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). These documents will be issued within one month of successful registration.
Students may initially register for the programme by paying Rs. 5,000 and attend lectures for one month to assess the quality of the course. During this period, the Nile University registration fee of Rs. 25,000 must be paid. Upon completion of payment, international student registration will be issued within one month.
Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable, in accordance with institutional financial policies and regulations.
